Through the 1994 season Benetton taken away a fuel filter on the refueling rig used throughout pit stops. This may have resulted in a fire that happened during Jos Verstappen's first pitstop at Hockenheim. This resulted in further inquiries by the FIA, during which, the refuelling rig manufacturer explained that in their opinion the modification might have resulted in 10% higher flow rates compared to rules allowed[citation needed]. Again the team journeyed without substantial punishment.
