Throughout the 1994 season Benetton eliminated a fuel filter from the refueling rig used while in pit stops. This may have triggered a fire that was held during Jos Verstappen's primary pitstop at Hockenheim. This resulted in further inquiries because of the FIA, during which, the refuelling rig manufacturer clarified that in their opinion the modification can have resulted in 10% higher flow rates than the rules allowed[citation needed]. Again the team went without substantial punishment.
