Throughout the 1994 season Benetton taken away a fuel filter from the refueling rig used during pit stops. This may have ended in a fire that occurred during Jos Verstappen's initial pitstop at Hockenheim. This resulted in further inquiries by the FIA, during which, the refuelling rig manufacturer explained that in their opinion the modification would have resulted in 10% higher flow rates versus rules allowed[citation needed]. Again the team proceeded to go without substantial punishment.
