Benetton System Ltd., commonly referred to purely as Benetton, was a Formula A single constructor that participated via 1986 to 2001. The team was owned from the Benetton family who run an international chain of clothing stores with the same name. In 2000 the workforce was purchased by Renault, but competed as Benetton for that 2000 and 2001 conditions. In 2002 the team became Renault F1.The Benetton Group entered Formula One being a sponsor company for Tyrrell in 1983, then Alfa Romeo inside 1984 and 1985 last but not least Toleman in 1985.
